If you’ve been itching to learn about the next version of iOS, have we got news for you.
Apple sent out the press invite for the 2022 edition of its annual Worldwide Developer Conference, or WWDC, on Tuesday. The invite depicts a row of rainbow-colored Memojis in profile, with the words “Swiftly approaching” beneath them. The obvious joke is that maybe Taylor Swift has something to do with WWDC this year, but truthfully, we’re not sure what to make of the slogan.
Anyway, the keynote stream with all the juicy announcements takes place on Monday, June 6 at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET. You’ll be able to watch it live on Apple’s website.
(Taylor) Swiftly approaching?

As for what is actually “swiftly approaching” at WWDC 2022, we expect a show that’s similar in scope to what WWDC was last year…and in basically every prior year before that. It’s a software showcase for Apple, so don’t expect to see a new iPhone. Instead, we’ll learn about iOS 16, and we’ll likely see updates to iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS, too.
And maybe, just maybe, there will be something for the Swifties out there. OK, probably not, but you should still tune in and read all of our coverage to find out.
