Reports are circulating that salesforce has recently shown interest in acquisition of workplace chat app Slack. The Wall Street Journal first reported the news on 25th November 2020.
Talks are still going on and we don’t know what will be the outcome of it. However if the deal is accomplished, this would be largest acquisition ever for Salesforce. This positive news resulted in rapid increase of slack shares up to 30% following the media reports.
Over the last year, most of the companies adopted working from home. This change saw a very positive impact on information technology systems and specially companies like slack got benefit from this situation.
Slack also launched new features to improve user experience and provide opportunity to collaborate with each other.
It is interesting to note that while slack shares jumped, salesforce shares saw a drop of 2.7% after the report hit the market. It would be interesting to see how much the deal would benefit Salesforce in future. What is your opinion on it?
